Be the voice of a new, freethinking Guyana. We all agree, Guyana is a beautiful country. From Pakaraima’s peaks of power to the Corentyne’s lush sands, this country astounds its citizens and the rest of the world with its diversity, natural grace and rich resources. Guyanese people, the most precious of these resources, reflect this diversity the most. On the surface, we co-exist in a peaceful manner. But trouble has been brewing and this reality continues, unaddressed.
Unhealed social fault lines originating from enslavement, indentureship and our subsequent political history have all led to our society becoming increasingly violent, corrupt, individualistic, materialistic and selfish. These social realities for quite some time have been eroding the national fabric, fueling a culture of hate and intolerance of each other's cultural differences. We deforest, pollute and destroy that which has been gifted to us; and Heal Guyana is the people's platform that says, “Our homeland has had enough”. We are condemned to a road of destruction only if you and I allow these issues to perpetuate within ourselves and our countrymen. There is inherent goodness in each of us and you would be surprised at the difference you could make, when it comes to solving these seemingly complex problems which stifle our nation’s progress on deeper levels. Challenge yourself to become a part of the solution from this moment. Join our civil society platform, right now. Together, we will help each other towards becoming free of hate, free of racism, free of political bias and self-interest. It is ultimately you and I who stand to lose the most from the consequences of these realities. It must therefore be you and I who lead in the responsibility of ushering Guyana towards the sustainable development it needs. Such a victory is possible! But only through a people’s partnership that includes all races, all religious backgrounds, the well-offs and the not-so-well-offs. This glorious land is one thing we all share in common. Now is the time to show where your love for Guyana truly is. |
"The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically.
Intelligence plus character -- that is the goal of true education."

- MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.
FAIRNESSIn a world where truth is subject to personal perception and correctness varies greatly across cultural origins, fairness towards each other assures a path to peace, justice & compromise.
|
UNITYThe eradication of our racial divide will be possible when our everyday interactions with each other ceases to be superficial. Race is just a social construct. Nothing more.
|
COMPASSIONMany of us close our hearts for fear of hurt. Or perhaps, having to do something about all the suffering we see around us. But 'doing something together' costs much less than we think.
|
EQUALITYA decision to respect the rights of others must not be subject to our biases or belief systems. We must have the content of character to extend opportunity and civility, regardless.
|
DIGNITYWhile we encounter the world through our five senses, it is our dignity which gauges the value we place on ourselves and the things that matter the most. Stay mindful of this inner filter.
|
NATUREWe wouldn't have a country, much less a home, if we litter and pollute the Earth. When we create a healthy environment, life ensures a cycle that positively shapes us in return.
|
NON-VIOLENCEWhen we exercise non-violence and dialogue, over the impulse to hate or destroy, we strengthen our relationships and win the battle against our greatest enemy -- ourselves.
|
INTEGRITYThe real value of preserving our integrity is not only to earn the respect of others but to enjoy a respect for self. No power, payment or prize is ever worth a quiet peace-of-mind.
|
WISDOMSmart youngsters know that wisdom isn't confined to the domain of the elderly. A steady pursuit of knowledge and a willingness to learn from the experiences of others, wins!

WHO ARE WE?
Heal Guyana is a civil society platform, focused on empowering Guyanese and influencing positive behavior change. We feature the perspectives of those who are free-thinkers; putting the welfare of Guyana and its people before political-loyalties and biases of all kinds.

WHO ARE WE NOT?
Heal Guyana is not a political party. We believe that in order to truly see, feel and think in a way that serves Guyana’s best interest and the higher good, our motives must remain free of self-promoting, ulterior interests.
The values we stand for are clearly outlined on this website and anyone claiming to be officially affiliated with the Heal Guyana Network will emulate these qualities, as active members of civil society, concerned with the process of peace building and sustainable national development.
